Bid/No-Bid Decision
Evaluate and recommend whether to pursue a government contract based on a thorough analysis of the opportunity, competition, and the organization's capabilities.Proposal Planning & Strategy
Develop a strategy for how to approach each proposal, including win themes, competitive analysis, and overall strategy to position the organization for success.Proposal Writing
Write or manage the creation of proposal sections, such as technical, management, and cost volumes, ensuring they are clear, compelling, and compliant with the solicitation requirements.Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure that the proposal meets all government requirements and guidelines. This includes reviewing the solicitation, identifying compliance issues, and making sure all required documents and certifications are included.Team Coordination
Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), project managers, legal teams, and other departments to gather information and ensure accurate, relevant content is included in the proposal.Cost & Pricing Development
Work with finance or cost accountants to develop a competitive pricing model that aligns with the proposal's technical approach and meets the client's budget expectations.Proposal Review & Editing
Review the draft proposals for quality, consistency, grammar, and compliance with RFP requirements. Suggest edits and improvements to ensure clarity and persuasiveness.Submission & Finalization
Coordinate the final proposal submission, ensuring all documentation is submitted on time and in the correct format, often via online portals or physical delivery.Post-Submission Activities
Participate in debriefings, review feedback from the client, and help identify areas for improvement in future proposals.
Types of people we are looking for:
Educational Background
Typically, a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred.
Some positions may require a master's degree or specialized certifications depending on the complexity of the proposals.
Industry Knowledge
Understanding of government contracting processes, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and government procurement procedures.
Knowledge of the specific agency or industry (e.g., defense, IT, healthcare) can be advantageous.
Writing and Communication Skills
Strong writing, editing, and communication skills are essential to develop clear, persuasive, and error-free proposals.
Ability to write technical content in a manner that is both accessible and aligned with client expectations.
Project Management Skills
Ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously, often under tight deadlines.
Experience in coordinating cross-functional teams and tracking progress to ensure timely proposal completion.
Analytical Skills
Strong analytical abilities to assess bid opportunities, evaluate competition, and identify strategic advantages.
Ability to dissect government solicitations and ensure compliance with all technical and administrative requirements.
Familiarity with Proposal Management Tools
Experience using proposal management software like Deltek, Salesforce, or Microsoft SharePoint.
Proficiency in document management and formatting software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Attention to Detail
Precision is key when reviewing large and complex proposals for compliance and ensuring that all required content is present and accurate.
Experience in Proposal Development
Entry-level positions might require familiarity with proposal writing, while senior roles typically demand several years of experience managing full-cycle proposals.
Certifications (Optional but Beneficial)
