Embracing the Future:

Year One in Review

Written by Eric Sedlacek, Founder of Tarden Advisory Services

It’s hard for me to believe that a year has already passed since the launch of Tarden Advisory Services. This last year has been a powerful learning experience, filled with challenges that pushed me to grow, innovate, and stay ahead of an ever-evolving industry.

I’ve been reflecting on what the journey has taught me because every milestone is an opportunity to step back and force oneself to assess their progress.

One Win That Changed Everything:

Three years of effort and disciplined strategy led to a GLOBALCAP award that will shape U.S. engagement worldwide for the next decade.

Three years. Hundreds of hours. One win that changed everything.

Two weeks ago, Sincerus was awarded a prime seat on the State Department’s GLOBALCAP IDIQ, a contract that will shape how the U.S. responds to global instability for the next decade.

For me, this was more than just the biggest capture I have ever led. It was about the journey. The strategy. And the persistence to keep moving forward when the process and the headwinds made it anything but easy.

Eighteen months of disciplined capture work laid the foundation. When the RFP hit, the challenges got real. But we stayed purposeful, methodical, and united.

At Tarden, our mission is to help clients navigate complexity with clarity and purpose, and this milestone reflects exactly that.

A new milestone:

Written by Eric Sedlacek, Founder of Tarden Advisory Services

This summer, I had the opportunity to be part of the very first Shipley Associates: We Help Companies Win Business cohort for the “Shipley AI: Advanced AI Topics and Techniques for Proposal Development” certification course.

Shipley has long set the standard for excellence in capture and proposal management across the GovCon industry — and this program represents their first major step toward integrating advanced AI techniques into the business development lifecycle.

Being part of this inaugural class wasn’t just about learning new tools. It was about helping shape how AI will transform the way we pursue, design, and deliver competitive proposals in the federal market.

As AI becomes embedded in the core of GovCon growth strategy, it’s clear: those who learn how to harness it, responsibly and effectively, will define the next generation of industry leadership.

Thank you Marty Humm for being both a teacher and a collaborator.

EP53: 8a Under the Microscope

Interview on Tan's Two Cents (T2C)

Written by Eric Sedlacek, Founder of Tarden Advisory Services

Everyone is focused on the 8(a) audit.
Fewer people are focused on what’s already changed.

I talked about this yesterday on Tan's Two Cents Podcast 🎧with GovCon thought leader Tan Wilson (Entellect, LLC) — and the biggest takeaway wasn’t procedural. It was behavioral.

The SBA’s full-scale 8(a) audit is not a routine compliance exercise. It is a system-wide credibility test.

In this episode of Tan’s Two Cents, Tan Wilson is joined by GovCon leader Eric Sedlacek for an unfiltered, apolitical discussion on what the 8(a) audit really signals for contractors, acquisition teams, and mission owners. Firms across the program have been required to produce three years of financial and contract records under explicit warnings of eligibility loss and enforcement action. But the implications go far beyond a single data call.

Fight Like a Girl:

Driving Change Outside the Ring

With success comes responsibility.

I was raised to believe that when you're in a position to give back, you should.
It's a lesson I was taught early in life—and one I carry with me today as a founder and a leader.

That’s why I made the decision, through
Tarden Advisory Services, to sponsor this year’s “Fight Like a Girl” Charity Smoker, hosted by Community Over Competition Foundation and CoC founder Crystal H.

An all-female fight card—ten powerful matchups driving real change outside the ring.
